All the Easy Set and Frame pools work with the wall mount surface skimmer as long as the liner has the proper inlet/outlet hose connectors.
» No, due to various local, state, national and international standards, the skimmer cannot be operated while in the pool since the filter pump is not to be operated when the pool is in use and/or occupied.
» Your pool can be easily emptied and stored in a safe place during the winter. However, many people choose to leave their pool up year round. In areas where freezing temperatures occur, there is risk of ice damage. It is recommended to drain, disassemble and store the pool in a safe place when temperatures drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. See "How To Drain Your Pool" section.
Clean pool water thoroughly (If Easy Set Pool make sure the top ring is properly inflated).
Remove the skimmer (if applicable) or any accessories attached to the threaded strainer connector. Replace strainer grid if necessary. Be sure all accessories parts are clean and completely dry before storage.
Plug the Inlet and Outlet fitting from the inside of the pool with the plug provided (sizes 10' and 12'). Close the Inlet and Outlet Plunger Valve (15', 18', and 24').
Remove the ladder (if applicable) and store in a safe place. Be sure the ladder is completely dry before storage.
Remove the hoses that connect the pump and filter to the pool.
Add appropriate winter chemicals. Consult your local pool dealer as different regions vary greatly.
Cover pool with Intex Pool Cover. IMPORTANT: INTEX POOL COVER IS NOT A SAFETY COVER.
Clean and drain pump, filter housing and hoses. Remove and discard old filter cartridge (keep a spare cartridge available for next season).
Bring pump and filter parts indoors and store in a safe and dry area, preferably heated.
STORING POOL FOR WINTER
After draining pool, dry pool liner completely (100%). Sprinkle talcum powder on liner to prevent vinyl from sticking together and to absorb any water you may have missed.
Roll pool liner to avoid creases and relocate to storage area. Place it in original carton if you saved it.
Keep all small parts together with filter pump, manual, and pool, and then place in an area that will remain at room temperature throughout the storage season.
» Water condition varies from country to country, states, region, and within specific zones and areas. In some regions the water could be "hard water", this is because the water contains excessive minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, thus causing the water to adopt a milky color. Check your local pool supply store for advice on water treatment and balance.
» A PVC or silicon based glue for repairing camping mats, tents, shoes, inflatable boats, etc are suitable for INTEX pools.
» Make sure all the air is removed from inside the auto cleaner. Follow the owner's manual on how to release the air.
» Yes, in some cases certain types of hardy grass such as Bermuda or St. Augustine can grow through the liner. Before setting up your pool, it is recommended that you clear the area of these types of hardy grasses. INTEX will not be held responsible for grasses that may grow through the ground cloth and / or pool liner, as this is not a manufacturing defect. A ground cloth or tarp may be helpful in preventing this from occurring.
» Empty the pool, use a soft brush, mild detergent and water to remove algae stains from the pool liner. Thoroughly rinse and dry before refilling or storage.
» Excessive use of pool chemicals can cause the color of the inside wall printing to fade away faster, like a heavy chlorinated public swimming will cause a bathing suit color to fade

» If the pool floor is not even or smooth, it will hinder the free movement of the auto cleaner. Pull the auto cleaner's hose gently to release the auto cleaner from the floors wrinkles and uneven areas. Also make sure the pump is on and running, the plunger valves are opened, and the filter cartridge and auto cleaner's debris net are clean. If this is a chronic problem the pool will have to be drained and the floor wrinkles smoothed out.
» 1) Make sure the pump is off and the power cord unplugged from the electrical outlet.
2) Lift the auto cleaner just below the water surface level by pulling the hose up slowly.
3) Grasp the hose with one hand and lift the auto cleaner out of the water slowly at an angle to drain out all the water of the body.
4) After all the water is drained out; hold the auto cleaner base with both hands to remove from the pool.
» No. The auto cleaner is not an electrical device. It relies on water flow to operate.
» The wall mount surface skimmer must be used together with an INTEX filter pump. The surface skimmer relies on the filter pump suction to perform.
» The auto cleaner suction is based on the venturi effect. (See Owners Manual). One end of the hose should be connected to the auto pool cleaner and the other end to the pool's outlet where water from the pump returns back into the pool.
» Ensure the wall mount surface skimmer hose is connected to the suction port, from the pool to the pump, and is setup to the right or left of the suction port (offset). Tighten the hook (for Easy Set Pools) firmly around the top ring or adjust the screws firmly (for Metal Frame Pools). The smooth contour of the hook will not puncture the top ring. Check that all air is purged from the filter pump, surface skimmer and circulation system.
» The tiny holes are vent holes for trapped air in the chamber to escape. Do not block or obstruct the vent holes. All air must be removed from the auto cleaner system for it to perform properly.
» No. Adding pool chemicals directly into the wall mount surface skimmer basket or into the filter cartridge chamber will cause the plastic parts to deteriorate faster due to high chemical concentration, and it will void the warranty. Pool chemicals shall be applied through a special pool chemical dispenser, consult with your local pool supplier specialist for details.
» Remove the hose adaptor connector from the outlet fitting connection and make sure the threaded strainer connector is free from debris, hair and algae. Also make sure the cartridge in the filter pump is clean and there is no leakage in the circulation system.
